بر اساس اعلام معاونت آموزش سازمان حمل و نقل و ترافیک شهرداری تهران، با توجه به آغاز فصل زمستان ضروری است که رانندگان در هوای زمستانی از تجهیز خودروی خود به زنجیر چرخ و لاستیک یخ‌شکن اطمینان پیدا کنند.
همچنین رانندگان باید در چنین هوایی سرعت خود را کاهش دهند و در مسیر مقابل، فضای بیشتری برای توقف در نظر بگیرند و چراغ‌ها و شیشه جلو را تمیز نگه دارند.
علاوه بر آن توصیه می‌شود، در هوای زمستانی رانندگان خودروها آرام ترمز بگیرند تا خودرو لیز نخورد و اگر چرخ‌ها قفل کرد، از گرفتن ترمز بپرهیزند. بهتر است؛ رانندگان برای حفظ انقباض به ویژه در سراشیبی از دنده سنگین استفاده کنند و روی پل‌ها، روگذرها و داخل خیابان‌های کم رفت‌وآمد که سریع تر یخ می‌بندند، بیشتر مراقب باشند.
هنگام لغزش چرخ‌ها، رانندگان باید فرمان را به سمت خارج خیابان بچرخانند تا کارافتادگی چرخ جلو خنثی شود و به حالت مناسب برگردد، همچنین هنگام لغزش چرخ‌ها پا را از روی پدال گاز و ترمز برداشته و با فشار روی کلاچ قرار دهند تا لغزش برطرف و خودرو به حالت عادی بازگردد.
چگونگی کنترل شرایط هنگام قفل شدن چرخ‌ها
لازم به ذکر است که هنگام قفل شدن چرخ‌های جلو، پا را از روی پدال گاز و ترمز برداشته و باید کلاچ را فشار داد، سپس خودرو را به سمت سرخوردگی قسمت عقب خودرو هدایت کرد، اما باید مراقب بود که انجام بیش از حد این کارها، خودرو را به طور کامل به طرف خلاف مسیر بر می‌گرداند.
