حتماَ بنظرتان مسخره می آید. چه رابطه ای می تواند بین سه عامل بالا باشد.
در چند کلاس اتومبیلرانی که در گذشته برداشته ام این رابطه اینطور تعریف می شود. اولاَ که یک دلار صد سنت است.
اگر شما درخط مستقیم با تمام قدرت ترمز کنید تمام صد سنتی که در اختیار شماست صرف نگه داشتن ماشین می شود.
اگر دارید بسرعت دور می زنید و از ترمز استفاده نمی کنید تمام صد سنت شما دارد سعی می کند از لیز خوردن ماشین جلوگیری کنید.
حالا اگر تصمیم بگیرید که در حین دور زدن ترمز بکنید مقداری از این چسبندگی دارد صرف نگاه داشتن اتومبیل و بقیه دارد صرف ترمز می شود یعنی نه شما یک ترمز درست و حسابی دارید و نه چسبندگی درست و حسابی و اینجاست که ممکنست ماشین لیز خورده و دور خود بگردد. پس اگر بتوانیم از فلسفه یا پیچ یا ترمز استفاده کنیم ممکنست جلو باشیم.
به قهرمانان نگاه کنید که قبل از رسیدن به پیچ تمام ترمزهای خود را می کنند و یک دلاری خود را موقع پیچ فقط صرف پیچیدن می کنند و البته از گاز برای پیچیدن بهتر استفاده می کنند.
بسیاری از ما دیر ترمز می کنیم که از مسیر صاف تا حد ممکن استفاده کنیم و وقتی وارد پیچ می شویم مجبور می شویم که تعدادی از یک دلار خود را بین چسبندگی برای پیچیدن و چسبندگی برای ترمز صرف کنیم و آنجاست که ماشین در پیچ از کنترل خارج می شود و نه ترمزمان ترمز می شود و نه پیچیدنمان پیچیدن می شود.
فراموش نکنیم که بمحض اینکه در یک پیج لاستیک ها قفل شوند (در نبود ABS) از آن پس فقط مسیر مستقیم را دنبال می کنند و دیگر نمی پیچند و بهمین علت اگر ناگهان ترمز را رها کنید ماشین یکباره شروع به پیچیدن می کنند زیرا تمام دلار بالا صرف پیچیدن می شود. گاه در این مرحله راننده کنترل را از دست می دهد چون انتظار آنرا ندارد.
یادم هست که یکبار که در زمان دانشجویی با اتوبوس ایران پیما از تهران به شیراز می آمدم برف شدیدی در یک گردنه گرفته بود و ناگهان یک اتومبیل که روی یخ لیز خورده بود و از پهنا درست جلوی ما بود ظاهر شد راننده هم پیچید و هم ترمز کرد ولی ماشین داشت همانطور صاف می رفت و ناگهان متوجه شد که بهتر است یک دلاری خود را صرف پیچیدن کند و بمحض رها کردن ترمز اتوبوس پیچید و از چند متری اتومبیل پیکان که سرنشینانش خودشان را برای یک تصادف بد آماده کرده بودند گذشت.
